Chairman Message

“Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.”

                                                                          - Plato

Every child enters the beautiful garden of knowledge with sparkle in his eyes and innocence in his heart. It is evident therefore, that his quest for knowledge is unending and it is the school that teaches him to learn, unlearn and relearn as he paves his way towards achieving all that he aspires for.

When we mention education, it weaves a simple picture in our mind of a student learning and a teacher teaching, but education is beyond the classical paper-pencil-blackboard theory. The world around us is constantly changing and we are aware that there are many challenges that lie ahead of us as we navigate around this world of changing demands. The need of the hour is to collaborate, innovate and keep growing in order to keep pace with the changes that are inevitable. Education and training today are to be aligned and geared to meet these remarkable challenges.

We, at Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, do not make excuses for our students. We firmly believe that there are no barriers to achievement that cannot be overcome by a determined and resilient student along with a supportive school team. We specialise in establishing what each student needs in order to make this outstanding progress and ensure that no child is left behind.

OUR VISION:

Our vision at JVM, Shyamali is to empower students to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value knowledge and skills that will support them, as life-long learners, to participate in and contribute to the global world and practise the core values of the school: respect, tolerance and inclusion, and excellence.

We prepare and motivate our students for a rapidly changing world by instilling in them critical thinking skills a global perspective, and a respect for core values of honesty, loyalty, perseverance, and compassion. Students are guided to achieve success today and be prepared for tomorrow.

To quote Robert Frost,” “Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.” I believe that this aspect has been truly imbibed in the minds of our children to help them grow tall in their lives as the humble banyan and not like a proud eucalyptus.
